The right content, available at exactly the right time.
We're pleased to announce the launch of course scheduling in eProfessor — a new feature that gives instructors and admins full control over when their courses open and close. Set a start date, set an end date, and let eProfessor handle the rest. No more manual publishing. No more last-minute rushes to take a course offline. Your curriculum, running on your timeline.
Why Course Scheduling Changes Everything
Managing course availability has always been one of those small but persistent headaches in online education. Courses go live too early, giving students access to material before they're ready for it. Or they stay open too long, muddying enrollment data and creating confusion. Instructors shouldn't have to babysit their own course calendar — and now they don't have to.
How It Works
Setting up a scheduled course is simple. When creating or editing a course, instructors can define:
- An opening date and time — the exact moment the course becomes visible and accessible to enrolled students.
- A closing date and time — when the course locks and students can no longer access content or submit work.
- Timezone settings, so opening and closing times are accurate for your institution's location and your students' context.
Once scheduled, the course runs automatically. No manual intervention required.
Built for Every Type of Institution
Whether you run cohort-based programs with fixed start and end dates, self-paced courses that open on a rolling basis, or intensive short-term workshops, course scheduling adapts to your model. Admins can also manage scheduling across multiple courses at once from the admin dashboard, making it easy to coordinate an entire semester's worth of content in one place.
More Control, Less Friction
Beyond the convenience, course scheduling brings a new level of academic integrity to your programs. When every student gets access to the same material at the same time, you create a level playing field. When courses close on a firm deadline, expectations are clear. Structure, it turns out, is a feature — not a limitation.
What's Next
Scheduled opening and closing is just the beginning of a broader set of course management tools we're building out. Coming soon: scheduled release of individual modules and lessons within a course, giving instructors even finer control over the pace and flow of learning.
Get Started Today
